What say I?

Dear Diary:
(warning - this is a long one)

Playing an awesome game for the PS2 - Disgaea - I don't know if you have ever played it or heard of it. Excellent strategy game, gives even your items the ability to power up.

One of the best things about this game - and hey, strategy in general - is a combined (i.e. "combo") attack with some of your strongest players. Sometimes, tho, it's best to not only have everyone strong on just one point.

Take, for example, a target that has decent protection and huge protection against magical artifacts. Your high attack (and probably defense as well) characters can't really dent him, but your mages can. However, mages are weak defensively, and the enemy may reach the mages with an attack.

Solution? simple - put your strong guys in front, mages in back.

Well, sounds simple anyways.

In practice, it's a lot tougher - especially in real life. Imagine a room of mixed races:

-Let's see how long it'll take before someone gets offended.
-Let's see how long it'll take before special groups start forming who don't want to give quarter but expect anyone else to.
-Let's see how long it'll take for cultural differences to come into play.
-Let's see how quickly the races in that room forget one important thing - that everyone else in there is a person too.

It's not just about taking everything every time. It's also about giving, it's also about respecting, it's also about NOT FORCING YOUR IDEAS ON OTHER PEOPLE when the first thing you do is COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMEONE WHO DOES IT TO YOU.

I'll be blunt, I'm considered a "minority" by the PC police but Heaven help you if you go against them. Sound funny? It's amazing that the only way to be "PC" is to play into the stereotypes that one tries so hard to break free of and to move away from.

No, I don't take a nap every four hours.
No, I don't feel I need your "special help" to go to school
No, I don't need you to hold my hand while I decide what to do.
No, I don't need your protection from the big bad "MAN"
No, I don't need you to tell me what's right and wrong - your idea is warped enough as it is

No, I don't want to ever have to deal with people bringing me down for who I am, what I am, and what I may be. Dang it, I'm an American, my grandfather gave a good chunk of his time for America, and I have who knows HOW many relatives in various branches of services. We work our butts off not only for ourselves but for our families - which you are quick to want to raise taxes on so that the lazy bastards out there I know who don't know the meaning of "work" and want to exploit the system to their heart's content can have more money for booze and alcohol (yeah, i know enough real life people so STHU and don't jump to conclusions)

So I'm supposed to be poor or in a broken home because I'm a minority? Please - all the people you tried to "help" while my dad was growing up STAYED in the hole they were in because they thought they couldn't do ANYTHING with out you. Yeah, he didn't listen to you, and even though he's not here right now it's one of the few things I'm proud of him for.

You want to help me? Fine. Don't hold my hand. Don't fix my problems for me. Let me learn on my own, let me make my own mistakes, let me become someone. Let me then help others to be somebody.

But you don't listen, do you? All we are to you is just another vote. All we are to you is just a demographic, broken up in racial districts that you can try to lie your way into (because most people don't read voting records anyways, right?) and because i'm a "minority" i need to vote for you. It's what all the other "hip" minorities are doing, right?

Screw you. Screw you, the poison help you bring to my table is nothing more but the detestables mutterings & syphostry of an insecure being who is prodded by those around it. You've no right to say anything, you have no right to claim anything; all you do is steal people's hopes, dreams, and soul by telling them that just becauase they're a minority they can't do anything, and that they are worthless. Then you thrown them into slavery by making them dependant on you, on what you offer, with no way of progressing - because if they do, then you can't help them anymore, right?

I'm sick and tired of you, and as long as I have breath in me I will do everything I can to fight against you.

In episode thirteen - War of the Netherworld, Part 2, Main Corridor 3, what's the best way of preventing those Psi-soldiers from keeping me down?
