water water everywhere

This skit is dedicated to the double water fountain installation on the top floor of the Paramount cinema.

Based upon a true story (and a conversation with Marc D Rowland).

[the middle of an office full of cubicles. a couple of guys are standing around chatting]

Rob:
Hey man, we're going to hang out at the watering hole. You wanna come?

Chuck:
[confused] The watering hole?

Bob:
Yeah man, it's the best place to catch the foxes.

[Bob gestures at the double water-fountain installation in the nearby wall]

Chuck:
What, you mean the water fountain?

Rob:
Pshaw! That's what the nerds call it.

[Chuck is insulted. He scoffs and walks off]

Bob:
What a square. Let's go.

[Rob and Bob meander over to the water fountain all cool-like. When they reach it they look around and then take a drink]

Rob:
[refreshed] ahhh.

[Rob and Bob lean up against the wall on either side of the double water fountains. They survey the cubicles with a watchful eye]

[a woman is walking towards the water fountain, but then she sees Rob and Bob. She stops. She looks around. She looks at the water fountain. She darts off down a different cubicle lane]

[Rob and Bob nod all cool-like and switch sides. They again lean against the walls.]

[another woman approaches the water fountain. She is unafraid]

Rob:
hey Zoe, how's it going?

Zoe:
hi Rob. hi Bob.

Bob:
come to get some refreshment?

Zoe:
ah, ... yeah.

[she glances at Rob and Bob and the water fountains a little nervously, then goes for the water]

Rob:
There's nothing like a little water to freshen up the soul.

[Rob and Bob detach themselves from the wall and surround Zoe]

[Zoe gets up from the water fountain and is faced by the two men. Her neck tenses up, and her frightened gaze darts back and forth between them.]

[Zoom out to see a guy with a safari hat watching the whole seen intently. He turns and speaks to the camera]

Safari guy:
Here we see a classic example of the predator humans hanging around by the local area watering hole.

Safari guy:
Since the watering hole is a regular stop for all of the animals that live in these parts the predators are able to acquire an easy meal out of unsuspecting herbivores.

[Zoom back in to the watering hole. Zoe writes her phone number down on a piece of paper and gives it to Bob.]

hoy, Sorry Mr. D, I just didn't get it and I think I really dislike Rob and Bob. They kinda reminded me of Will Farrell and Chris Katan as the Ruxberry brothers (was their name Ruxberry?).

I like the way Rob and Bob set up their territory, but it needs to be more assertive for the second half. I think R/B should eat Zoe. (When we cut away from the Safari dude, we see them red-mouthed, with her corpe between them.) Seriously!

I love the croc hunter ending. Maybe run with that a little more.

Dustin. Saw the punchline coming. Still, I like
your style. The beauty of your site is all the
free critique. Sometimes helpful, sometimes
hurtful, but always FREE, and flowing. I give
the "sillytech.com" concept a (5). Possibly the
only five I'll bestow.

Dustin. After a few more reads, and imagining Sean's suggestion in place (eating Zoe while safari man is narrating from afar), I think it's a great skit for pre-recorded sketch comedy. Unfortunately, due to several prior hand slaps, I refrain from submitting a higher, more appropriate rating.
