3 days in Whistler, BC

whistler ziptrek

My mom the travel writer came out west from Toronto and took me up to Whistler for 3 days this week. We went skiing, and I did a zipline course that they've built over the river between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. The picture is one of our guides who ran the ropes. Interspersed were talks about how the Whistler community is practicing sustainability. My mom wimped out and just did the Treetrek tour, walking along some of the platforms but not riding any wires.

We stayed in the Sundial Hotel, which was superb. It was literally steps from the Whistler Gondala, and had an outside hot tub on the roof (which we used every night). Our suggestions for improved sustainability are to not have the empty fridges set to maximum cold, and to have non-disposable cups in the lobby along with the disposable ones.

Here are the pictures that I took.

Hi Dustin...

Looks like a great trip! Congrats on launching the new game..

I notice that you have some interest in sustainability issues, in case you don't yet know about it you may want to visit www.worldchanging.com it's probably the web's most comprehensive digest on green living. pass it on.

I hear from your mom that you are well settled into a great neighbourhood in Vancouver, I'm happy for you.

Take care pal.
