World Cup

The World Cup is starting up. A good website for news junkies like myself is 4thegame. Good coverage with some entertaining features.

I will also be hosting a few select games from the opening rounds. The first game is guaranteed to be the England v Paraguay on Saturday, June 10th (9am, I believe). I'll probably be watching most of that day. Leave a comment if you wish to be emailed with the latest info and are interested in coming over.

I can't make June 10th as I'll be somewhere in New England. But do keep me posted on future match schedules at the Vinnington Arms.

I'll be around at the start of July, which I see has some of the championship rounds (the final is July 9th). So if you're hosting any of those games I look forward to starting a soccer riot at your house then. =)

My goal is to host as many games as work, Natasha and the Fringe let me. The finals is a guarantee to be hosted. The semi-finals will probably have to be shown delayed. They start at 3pm mid-week. I'll tape them (they'll still be HD) and probably have a 6pm hosting shindig each night. We'll see how that pans out.

The most exciting game will be Sunday, when the Dutch will do what they do best: mete out justice to Yugoslavs.

(P.S. how is this going to work with Serbia and Montenegro now, anyway? Serbia in the first half, Montenegro in the second half? AWK-ward!)
