Go See It...

I concur. Ken and I saw it when he was in London in October, and it has probably been my favourite movie of the year. It's too bad the trailer gives so much of it away/makes it look kind of cheesy.

I found the politics of the film a bit confused (the fifteen year-old book was prescient, but the filmmakers decided to add yet another layer pessimism), but the movie really keeps coming at you. I was very much caught up and swept along. If it gets reviews like this from inveterate cynics like myself and Andrew, you know it must be good.

I also enjoyed it on a number of levels.

They got a lot of details just right. For instance, the main character wears a faded London 2012 sweater at one point.

I wasn't really listening; I was just watching the moving pictures.

I saw it tonight and it was really quite amazing. I found it fascinating to read all of the ads, posters, and headlines. Although, seriously, that was the fastest birth ever.
