The real world approaches...

A while ago I said that I had applied to 2 really cool jobs. I have now been interviewed for both of them. This is a good start in my quest to enter the real world.

Job 1 is a programmer for Laser Registration, an event organizing company. It's cool because the company is all macintosh based. The slightly wacky part is that they use the 4D development environment. This is a as proprietary a system as you can get, and not in very large usage throughout the software industry.

Job 2 is for a micro-java-gaming programmer with Airborne Entertainment. They make games for wireless devices like cellphones. Apparently the company itself was started by two rather luminary dudes: the founder of Generation Net (an ISP) and the former CEO and 'driving force' behind the Just for Laughs festival. Knowing very little about the job itself, I think that I would dearly love to get it. I was interviewed by a recruiter from CNC Global. Recruiting seems a funny business. Now he must go to the actual company and try to sell me to them. If they like what he's selling then I get a real interview with the company. Yada yada yada...

Well, here's hoping something you like lands in your lap. No "stay-at-home-Dustin" to cook & clean. :)
Good luck!
