Go Belgium Go

I've lived without a TeeVee for quite a while now. Most of the time I don't miss it one little whit, but there are some rare exceptions. One of those is Tennis, especially when one of the major tournaments is going on. As it happens, this weekend is the championships of the U.S. Open.

Luckily I was able to find a nice seat at Lauren's house to enjoy some quality tennis action. The highlight was a marathon match between Justine Henin and Jennifer Capriati. It was back and forth the whole match with plenty of dynamite points included. It ended up in a tiebreak to decide the third set and the match. And my girl Henin pulled it out in the end.

This means she faces Kim Clijsters (another belgian) in the women's final tomorrow. I shall do my best to watch that match (8pm start time). I much prefer to watch women's tennis than men's. It's a little slower paced, with more rallies. Ball placement and strategy are more important, as opposed to pure serve power. Not to mention that 5 sets can get to be boring.

An efficient airport, delicious pastries, Flemish Renaissance art and architecture, lagers that don't taste like burning...
