Canada Day with Hawksley Workman

To celebrate Canada day I went to to old port to see some music by Hawksley Workman and the fireworks. It was a lovely show. You should check out some of his music if you haven't heard it before. I was going to link to his website, but it's awful awful awful.

hey dustin, i think it's a really cool website - not just any old regular site but a piece of art. i'm gonna give the link here so people can go have a look themselves ;) http://www.hawksleyworkman.com/home.php.
visit hawksley's messageboard too if you like - tons of info, photos, links for audio and video files, interviews, reviews, discussions and the hottest update on everything from the new album, the next concert, and the live DVD that's out next month :) you'll find the messageboard here: http://www.papershoes.com/board

I agree, it's pretty crappy.
-Any site that makes you scroll side to side does not like good useability
-Counterintuitive menu, might be artsy but not user friendly
-Visually busy

Yeah, that was the main bad thing. Horizontal scrolling does not exist on good web sites. Good websites also have easy-to-use navigation between all the sections. They do not popup windows every link you click.

The background thing with all those changing images is quite cool. Put that on a vertical-scrolling page with simple navigation and no pop-ups and you will get a much better website. The web is it's own unique medium, and the medium is the message.
