Classy newspaper

The director of elections in Quebec recently stated that women who wear the burka or niqab are allowed to vote without revealing their faces. This caused a firestorm of protest and the director has since reversed position. (Somehow what was legal one day was illegal the next.)

It's nice to see that the Journal de Montreal could be counted on to address the issue with taste and courtesy for both sides. (See top of newspaper)

Search a livejournal community
Is it possible to do a text search through a livejournal community's archives? For the life of me I cannot find a way to search the Vancouver lj group.

If this is really the case: it sucks. LJ has solid communities, and being able to search them would add greatly to their utility. Otherwise, please tell me how to do it.

Collateral Damage to the English Language
From cbc.ca:
In 1811, Shelley was an undergrad student at the University of Oxford. He wrote and printed the pamphlet to sell to raise funds to support imprisoned Irish journalist Peter Finnerty. After spending time embedded with British forces, Finnerty reported critically on the nation's leadership, its war efforts and colonies.
