The gazette ran a column on Yvon Tripper today, written by Andy Riga. I haven't read it yet because you need to be a subscriber to read it online:

Here's a transcript:

Ontario welcome on this Bloc
ANDY RIGA

This Bloc even anglos would elect. It's called the Bloc Québecois de l'Ontario. It's mission: the "Québecisation of Ontario" and the "Association-Sovereignty of Quebec." Under a Bloc government, "all Ontariois will gain the right to exercise their civil rights in French," says its site (www.demaisonneuve.com/bloc). To equalize the two provinces, Ontario's legal drinking age would drop to 18 and "the de facto drinking age to 14," while roads spending would be cut. This fictitious Bloc opposes Confederation "primarily because of the eight non-Québec/Ontario provinces. We believe that these provinces are fundamentally pointless and add nothing to the nation of Québec. We believe that Québec (including Ontario) would be much better off without them. However, under the present constitutional arrangement, in order to kick them out of Confederation, we actually have to ask their permission. Obviously, this will not work, so the only viable option is sovereignty for Québec." The party has two slogans: Le Québec: Un pays de l'Avenir, and Our Québec includes Ontario!
