Talk the Talk

Another helpful site is Wordplay Dialect Translator. You can enter a website and it translates the page's contents into a "dialect". I put "dialect" in "quotation marks" because although there are clearly rules governing the translation, it's not actually a productive language.

International Talk Like a Buccaneer Day is but one week away, so ye've all got a lot o' work t' do t' get ready. This website helps ye perfect ye buccaneer accent. And swab the deck! Apparently, pirates were Newfies. Hoist the mainsail!

I also liked this "Funk" translation of an entry appearing on this page. See if you can recognize the original!
