The start of a crusadeI just sent this letter to the editor to the McGill Daily:------------------------------------------------------------ I think it's about time that the Daily embarked on a new crusade. Something worthwhile, something that students care about, something with spunk. Well hopefully this letter will be the start of it. For I have a simple recommendation: I say that we rename the Brown Student Services Building to Spock. I think this is a good idea for the following reasons: 1. It's funny. 2. It's easy to remember. 3. The current name sucks aardvarks. I mean how bad a name is the Brown building? There are many different brown buildings on campus, it's liable to confuse new students. No one could forget Spock, especially being right next to the Shatner building. It just makes so much sense. Take a look for yourself, the front of Spock even has a pointed vulcan ear on it. Now you may say "The university would never allow it", but McGill never allowed the Shatner building to be called the Shatner building either. It's still officially called something much lamer. It just goes to show that as the dominant species on campus we the students have the ability to name buildings whatever we want. So I urge the McGill Daily as well as all you students out there to join me in the quest to rename the Brown building to Spock. At the very least it should provide for some nice entertainment.
