Modest Mouse

Yesterday Dan Beirne pointed my to the spankin' website of the band Modest Mouse. The homepage is purty cool. I really like the Gonzo dude. I wish I had a nose like that.

While on the subject I would like to point to a link to Float On on Tangmonkey. I've been listening to the song repeatedly since I first heard it. It's a great example of what Modest Mouse is capable of. That's my way of saying that while I really like some of their songs I'm not a fan of everything that they do. Sometimes their sound meshes perfectly and sometimes it just grates upon the ears.

Some other songs of theirs that I like a lot: Karma's Payment, 3rd Planet, Paper Thin Walls. Check them out y'all.

PS: I just added 'Tangmonkey' to my computer's spellcheck dictionary.

Your next addition should be "fucksauce".

I downloaded a couple of songs by Modest Mouse, inspired by Dan's shirts, and they were ok. Unfortunately my current internet arrangement prevents me from getting more.

As a fan of Modest Mouse, this song makes me sad. The vocals are the only thing that I feel even sound remotely like what I think of when I think of mm. Even then they, as well as the rest of the song, sound more like Ugly Cassanova (Isaac Brock's side project, which I do like), except gone horribly pop.
