Update from EdinburghSo I have been in Edinburgh for about a week now. It's quite a nice city, with lots of historic buildings and such. However, the weather has been 'bloody awful' to use some brit-speak. Dark and rainy and pretty cold too. I tell myself that it's still betetr then Montreal is now though (please don't burst my bubble).I'm staying in Andrew's mum's flat, taking care of the cats (Boris and Natasha) while she is out of town. She was very nice, telling me to make myself at home, and the cats are friendly and very cute. So it's an excellent living arrangement, and within walking distance of the city center. I've met some of Mariana's friends, and they are likewise nice. They represent a random assortment of people from various parts of the world. So that's cool. In an hour I'm going to get an assesment of my French skills at Berlitz. Hopefully then I can take some lessons. I need to get a French dictionary and start making myslef some flashcards as well. A note to shareware authors traveling abroad: Don't say you will be working while in the other country. When the border authorities asked me how I was going to be supporting myself I mentioned my business, and the lady didn't like that at all. So I backtracked and said it's just a few hours a week on the internet and I would be using my savings. She was nice about it and let me through without any more hassle. Ta ta for now.
