Shareware linkage

How to use and abuse the gaming press and how the gaming press wants to use and abuse you is a good read for anyone selling games. The article was originally a speech from the Free Play conference for indie game developers in Melbourne in July 2005. I know that I still have a long way to go before becoming good at media public relations.

Also, 10 Steps to a Hugely Successful Web 2.0 Company is a good short to-do list for running a business on the net. I would replace "8. Don't waste any money on marketing" with "8. Use Google Adwords to market directly to people looking for what you offer".

I guess it is better to use submission service (www.submitmysoft.com) to get shareware product listed at download sites. This procedure drives customers to the website and gives a handsome encrease in number of downloads and sales.

My experience has been that download sites don't bring in very much real traffic, although the links are still good for google ranking.

The original links in this post are still quite good I say.
