3 comments Fortunately, almost every riding in Montreal is so lopsided that it doesn't matter who you vote for. Unless you live in Outremont, Papineau, or Verdun, strategic voting is 100% pointless.
Also, political parties that get subsidized per vote, as long as they get at least 2%. So if you have no other reason to vote, vote for the party that you want to donate $1.50 per year in tax money to. Or don't vote, and demand that the government send $1.50 to our crumbling hospitals.

Well, that's what I understood the article to be saying. That is, vote strategically if it will make a difference, which you determine by looking at previous election results; otherwise vote for whoever you want to give money to. | |
Also bear in mind that Strategic Voting can be really tricky and by its nature sort of prevents major change... | |
