computer nerd stuffGrumpy's is a pretty nice bar. I had never been there before. I really like the name 'Grumpy's' too. It's got such class. Was there for scott's twenty fifth birthday! Can't nobody stop the march of years...Some compy stuff follows. I just took a look at the logs of the webserver I've got running on my computer. I use it as a test server for my websites. Usually it's cut off behind a router, but I had it set to forward web requests to me while I was testing some stuff out. Anyway, here's a sample of the interesting lines: [error] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/sillytech/scripts/root.exe [error] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/sillytech/MSADC/root.exe [error] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/sillytech/c/winnt/system32/cmd.exe [error] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/sillytech/d/winnt/system32/cmd.exe Apparently that's the code red II worm checking to see if it can have any fun on my system. Unfortunately, since I'm running the rock solid apache webserver instead of microsoft's it cannot. However, just to be safe I set my router to not forward HTTP requests. There's no point in trying to access my home computer over the internet anyway because it doesn't have a domain name or static IP address. I've thought about setting up a home brew dyndns system though. All it would take is making a cron script to ping sillysoft.net with my home comp's IP every so often. Then a subdomain could be set up on sillysoft.net that just forwarded requests to my recorded IP address. Effectively it would give my home computer a domain name without having to set up BIND or anything. I might try it out when I finally get some fecking hard drive space. Then I could set up an FTP server and other stuffs at a stable domain.
