Well, a flickr pro account was just generously paid for as well. At least that puts them on even grounds in terms of uploading and storage. lj does the journal thing well, but I don't know about their photo support. Whereas flickr does the photo thing very well. It's what it was built for. Flickr has a 'your contacts' page which is the photo version of the lj 'friends' page. I added you, so I will see all the photos you put on flickr show up there.
