Search a livejournal community

Is it possible to do a text search through a livejournal community's archives? For the life of me I cannot find a way to search the Vancouver lj group.

If this is really the case: it sucks. LJ has solid communities, and being able to search them would add greatly to their utility. Otherwise, please tell me how to do it.

Go to the info page and click on the little magnifying glass icon (in the box that has friend, memory/heart and something else)

Thank you for the link. Does it actually work for you? I tried some searches and nothing returns any results, even for words that I know are there.

You could try a google site search like:
http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=new+years+site%3Acommunity.livejournal.com%2Fvancouver%2F&btnG=Search&meta=

Google's index seems to be a bit limited, but it does return some results.

I was going to make Chris' suggestion. Also you can get yourself on Google Reader - it allows you to search all its known blog feeds so I assume livejournal is included...

Ha, even three years later this is an issue.

Re: James' suggestion- most groups have posts that aren't open to the public, and what you're subscribing to is the public feed, unless someone can tell me how to subscribe to the complete feed.
