Where does Canada's electricity come from

Here's a chart showing where Canada's electricity comes from.

The majority is hydro, second is coal (yuck), and nuclear is third. Other sources only account for a small portion.

This graphic was taken from the Canadian government's About Hydroelectric Energy webpage. That page has some interesting stuff on it, so check it out if you're interested in energy.

I wonder how diverse the "Other" is. I mean there aren't that many other ways you can generate power besides wind, right? Does Hydro One keep a bunch of hamsters in their basement running on generating treadmills?

I think there's a tiny bit of geothermal. Solar? Imagination?

All the usual alternative-power suspects. Also, probably the pilot Bay of Fundy tidal power project.

In addition to their Hydro page linked above, the gov also has pages on Bioenergy, Earth/Geothermal, Solar and Wind.

These pages seem to be part of the Canadian Renewable Energy Network. "Its purpose is to increase the understanding of renewable energy to accelerate the development and commercialization of renewable energy technologies."
