Map of single men versus single women

From a post at Creativity Exchange comes this distribution map of single people across the USA. The comments there have some discussion of it as well. I would be interested to see how Canada measures up.

So what you're saying is, if I want to get laid I go to the east coast?

Sounds good to me!

That's not necessarily the right conclusion. If your aim is to get laid, a more useful graph would show the percentage of men to women, rather than the absolute numbers. In the New York metropolitan region, there may be 185,000 more men than women, but in an area of 18 million people, it would be hard to find those single women. Also, you have to remember that some areas have more women than men because women live longer, so some cities are full of old ladies (i.e., Miami). So, even though women outnumber men by a lot in a couple of East Coast cities, those wouldn't necessarily be great places to go to get laid.

Hope that helps!
