| huzzah for googleGoogle has done it again and added some more incredibly funky stuff. Now you can search for an area code and get a map of the area (here's 514).
They have also implemented a dictionary. Just add 'define:' before the word you want (example define:gnarly)

Plus I find that whenever I need a calculator now I just use google. Type any mathematical expression in and it works like a calculator. I know that there's a calculator program on my computer, but it isn't open 100% of the time like my browser is.

Then at work (using Windows 2000) I use the Google toolbar, which I find indispensable. It blocks popup windows and puts a quick search bar at the top of every page along with some other google integration features. You should definitely check it out if you don't have it.

3 comments | | Didn't Google send you a nice you-didn't-get-the-job-but-thanks-for-applying letter? Was there a free t-shirt involved? I respect and rely on their search engine service, eventhough they live on the edge of uber-popularity and mainstream monopoly. I used to go for hotbot.

(NB- This was added primarily to post my rank on Sillytech. I'm new to all this, and not at all competitive.)

 | that calculator is so damn cool. you can mix up symbols, words and numbers, as well as different kinds of units.
 eg, search for:
(seven decades divided by hours - 3000 plus pi squared)f in c

even more fun is that they have a sense of humour. eg:
the answer to life the universe and everything divided by six
