Things I learned from Wikipedia tonight -20 years after Shakespeare dies, Harvard is granted a founding charter. Never thought they were so close together.
-The chorus to "So Long, Farewell" (from The Sound of Music) is written in Iambic Pentameter.
-Thomas Jefferson designed his own house.
-The Washington Monument was not completed until after the Civil War, 86 years after he died.
2 comments Just think: if Shakespeare had held on just a little longer, he could have gone to Harvard and learned to write proper sentences.
And good for those sensible Americans, waiting 86 years to see if the thing was going to make it before honouring their founder. Not like those dumbasses in Leningrad.
So long, farewell, good bye, auf wiedersehen Just watching this movie gives me much pain

Thomas Jefferson designed a lot of houses; my uncle just wrote a book titled "Thomas Jefferson: Architect". | |
