An independant game company postmortem

I just read the very interesting postmortem of the shareware company Pyrogon. Written by the founder, it details how they failed. There's also an excellent analysis of said postmortem pointing out what was done wrong from an successful independent game developers perspective.

Anyway, I wanted to point out what I thought was a key line from the postmortem. (Yes, this is directed at you):
the sweet spot for starting your own company is when you're single with almost no living expenses and responsibilities -- college students or guys working out of the basement of their parent's house.  You may lack experience, but you have a long time to sort your shit out.
