I FIBBEDThis is not a skit. I am breaking the rules for the betterment of society. I am targeting those who create/develop comedy skits. Please, do read on.My name is Eileen. I am a senior at the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania. I came across your email address while online. I am spearheading a project that aims to raise money for the Allegheny House of North Philadelphia, which provides a group living experience for boys whose safety, protection, or well-being requires removal from their homes. However, I am attempting to put a creative spin on the chore of fundraising and I am asking for your help. Rather than asking for money, a group of my closest and most serious colleagues are producing a DVD of skit comedy to be sold on college campuses during Spring, 2005. We call ourselves LaughRx. All of the proceeds will benefit the Allegheny House. We are asking anyone and everyone to submit their funniest skits to our project. We will compile them and use them in our production, giving credit to all creators and contributors. We offer a new approach to a task with which professionals in the nonprofit sector struggle. Furthermore, this project gives students and other individuals an opportunity to serve their community while putting their creative talents to use in an unconventional way. I call it versatile volunteering. If altruistic motives are not enough, LaughRx is offering $1000 to the funniest skit submitted. Without skits, there will be no DVD. Without a DVD, there will not be any money for this great organization, which is in great need of our help! Please pass the enclosed information along to anyone you think may be interested. www.laughrx.org or email me at webstere2@uofs.edu
