The saddest sound in the world

I went to sleep last night downcast and very sad. Bush may win this election and the US will be stuck with an incompetent, reputation-destroying, warmongering cowboy with no respect for other countries or even many of his fellow citizens. The more I learn about my home country, the more disappointed I become. If being a great world power means trampling on all those around you, then I want nothing to do with it. That man makes us look bad everywhere we go but our own little false realities that scatter the country. Apparently being a white evangelist Christian man is all that qualifies you for president because his domestic and foreign policies are killing the economy and our relations with the world, among other things. Why the hell we think we're so invincible and righteous, I have no idea. What equality is there now? That of the ignorant following the blind - everyone is lost. Forgive me this rant.

How about instead of Girls Night, we have a Immigration Party, instead? Nikki can consult, Maryam can wear the "Been there, done that" T-shirt, and we'll have a grand old time getting drunk and filling out paperwork!

What's YOUR skilled worker assesment score?

As a wiseman once said, "There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says, Fool me once... shame on... shame on you.... Fool m'you can't get fooled again"

Apparently not.

Almost more disturbing then the popular vote results were the overwhelming gay marriage ban votes in almost a dozen states.

Screw electoral colleges: some people need to go back to electoral high school.

76 on the skilled worker assessment score! I did well on the education and the languages, bad on the work experience and spousal skills. Good to know if I lose my passport, I can always get in through the back door.

P.S. What's with getting points for the skills of your spousal/partner? Maybe the government thinks hooking up is a skill in itself.
