Where in the World is Chrisdye

I was cold, and going to a restaurant ( or doing anything else) was outrageously expensive. So I popped into a grocery store and bought a 2 euro bottle of wine, where I was treated inexplicably uncourteously. I then visited the final resting place of Louis Braille, before going to a laundromqt where I was lectured by some random Zairean about colonialism.

Where am I?

Congratulations to Chronomorph for the correct answer. I'm glad that none of you were fooled by that reference to colonialism in Zaire. Louis Braille is buried in the Panthéon in Paris.

Rockapella. Heh.

There was a carmen Sandiego game too, wasn't there? Sadly I think so. That was the true villianry of the whole scenario.

Actually, I believe the TV show was a spin-off of the game, not the other way around. And anyway, the game was awesome.

You think they'll make a show that's a spin of of one of those calculus games?, geography is only important when trying to identify some country that attacks even though we have little or nothing to do with them.

I believe that's the theory behind Lux.

That's perfect! You learn the different parts of the world and the only context in which most people will ever use the knowledge they've gained of them; throughout their entire life: In the light War and conquest. It correctly teaches people the importance of some parts of the world --(once again this is a interpretation intended to be humourous and the source of it should be considered) the mesage- (which brutal while true) is that the context in which you are viewing some parts of the world is the only context you'll ever really need to see them in. -in this comments defence some cultures need stong feelings to help settle their attitudes to how they should view the sources of great trageties. This is in no way to influence hateful behavior to people, instead it is more a coping mechanism. If you are of another culture please take into consideration how deep you are looking (what layer this part of the culture is and thus this a pretecting mechanism and mentality of survival) into this culture.
