Ratings and anonymity

Just a thought. I think posting comments anonymously is fine but being allowed to give a rating anonymously is uncool.

Suggestion: How about requiring registration for leaving a rating?

Anyone else with thoughts on the matter?

My opinion is that anons should be able to do as much as possible. Maybe if sillytech was drowning under a load of anon ratings things would be different, but...

You could make anonymous votes count for less. That might encourage people to register.

I think it would be AWESOME if a person's ratings were adjusted against how they rated other skits. So if I'm a tough-ass and give 2 on average, and some other guy is easy and gives 4 on average, then my 5 should count more than his, and his 1 should count more than mine.

Also, the site should list every user's batting average.

I suppose we're all anonymous in our login names,
but the fact remains, if your comment or critique
is void of a face, then your critique/comment
hath no voice. Come out of the shadows, wearing your masks, and be proud of your opinion.

Personally, I use the moniker as a means of exclusvity. I prefer not to have hate mail
flooding my personal address. If I choose to reveal myself to others, it will be by my own hands.
A Privacy Policy, if you will.
