2 comments Private member's bills are bologna. Whether or not it's a good idea to get rid of the penny, I think we can all agree that it's an even better idea not to let our crazy local MPs write their own laws.
(In my studies of law and politics, I have only come across two private member's bills in the history of Canada that became law: one in 1964 to change the name of "Trans-Canada Airlines" to Air Canada, and one in 1985 to ban smoking on flights shorter than two hours.)
