Call For Submissions - (DVD Media Project)
Ok, this is the thing we've all been telling you about, and if you haven't heard about it yet... well here's the scoop.
We are looking for your art!!!
It can be film/video, sound recordings (music or not), photography, design, animation , drawing, writing (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, articles essays etc.), and just about anything else that can be made into a digital format... time based or not. The only criteria for your submissions is they must be in DIGITAL FORMAT and they should not be unreasonable long,(unless you don't mind if we cut it up a bit or use parts of it).You may submit something you have all ready done or create something new for the project.
What is this?
Well let's see, how can we explain it? What originally started out as an idea to make a DVD-Zine has now become something far less structured and, we think, much more fun! It's a DVD, but not the way you know it. It's collaborative, in that we will utilize your submissions (without compromising the individual works and giving full credit of course) through an non-premeditated (dare I say organic) process of layering sound, image, graphics, design, time-based and non - for interactivity - so that the viewer can make choices - with the press of a button - while navigating through the DVD environment.
Why?
The outcome is intended as an conceptual art project to :
-promote yours and our work
-provide an alternative (a new form of experience) with digital media
-create a collective of Media (and non-media) artists who are involved in the project (in any way you like) with plan (in the future) to create multiple volumes
-open a dialogue between artists from far reaching spaces
-provide an outlet to experiment with our current choice of media or to try something completely new
Please fell free to send many and varied works... the more and varied submissions we have the better the project.
