It only took CIBC five days and one false conclusion to determine that an email from "cibcstatements@sarcoplex.com" and signed "C..I..B..C Online Services" was not real. See the incredible detective work below:

Fun with a Fisheye Lens
2011 was my 6th year attending the Northern Voice personal media conference. I took the opportunity this time to play around more with my DSLR camera. I got to talking with photographer John Biehler about shooting using a fisheye lens, and he was kind enough to lend me his for the second day of the conference.

Fisheye is such a different perspective, it took me some time to get a feel for what it works well on. Here are a few of my favorite fisheye shots from the day (click to enlarge):

See all my photos in my 2011 Northern Voice photoset. The first half were with a 'regular' lens, and the second half are fisheye shots.

Underwater Adventures

I've been staying up late nights this week captivated by the computer game Aquaria. It's a thoroughly enjoyable underwater adventure game, with an immersive world of different environments, delightful art, fitting musics, and a fun storyline. It reminded me of classic Zelda games in many respects, with its own unique aspects.

Highly recommended, it's available to download for Mac and PC (and maybe Linux).

More pointless time-wasting crap
Songs without lyrics quiz

I normally am not that interested in online quiz games, but it's interesting to see where your pop-music knowledge peaks (obviously the 90s is where it's at for me):

60s: 22/36
70s: 24/36
80s: 32/40
90s: 31/36
00s: 19/36
