11 comments | | That is absolutely amazing. I mean, they get wires and padding and fake shots for all that stuff in movies. It looks like a video game where you run around the city jumping and climbing and flipping over everything. Fascinating, truly fascinating. | | |

 | This video is like my dream of what my life would be like...I always imagine climbing buildings when I see them, consider how to climb up...but I'm a scrawny white Jew. Damn you, REALITY! | | |

 | I agree about the awesome. | | |

 | Parkour is great to watch live. I saw some kids practising it (low level) in Paris when I went last year. | | |

 | Earlier this year, an outdoors McWorkshop and w/o Annette photoshoot were interrupted by a bunch of hoodlums attempting this type of stuff. Mister bo-jangles security guy asked them to move along. They weren't terribly good at it; they just looked like street kids with nowhere to go. Plus they all had their shirts on.
The wikipedia article doesn't even mention that "Parkour" is a play on "parcour" which translates to obstacle course. Silly wiki.

Anyhow, it did have a link to a cool BBC advert

 | From the article: "The word Parkour derives from “parcours du combatant”, the phrase referring to the obstacle courses of Hébert’s method.

 | Nice try, Vinny. You just added that! That's wikity-wikity-wikity-whack! | | |

 | I don't think purists consider this TRUE parkour (whatever THAT is) because it's too showy.
Another impressive video from a few years ago showed david belle getting down from this fuckin' high building in almost no time, but I can't find it.

 | Does anyone know the names and artists of any of those songs in that video? They're great... | | |

 | I recall at least one of them was on the Matrix soundtrack. | | |

 | Yes, that first one is "Clubbed to Death" by Rob D. After that, a whole bunch of miscellaneous French rap, of which at least one is probably MC Solaar, though I don't recognise any of them specifically. | | |
