the poor man's Steadicam®

A little while ago I was talking with Dan Beirne about steadycams, and he said that it wasn't that hard to make them yourslef. I just saw instructions online on how to make a steadycam for $14 (american). It does require some tools that I don't have, but I'm sure that someone I know in montreal has access to them. So then, who wants to make a steadycam with me?

You can rent those tools from Reno Depot or some such place. Probably 10$ a day each?

It's very possible I could borrow some of those tools from my stepfather. I'll ask him when he gets back.
