Koodo Mobile = Telus with less Sucks? |
Koodo Mobile is a new low-cost brand of Telus Mobility. They seem to have some really good deals compared with what I'm paying - and I'm with Telus right now.
No system access fee, no activation fee, no contracts, per-second billing. This looks like a serious play by Telus to lower the costs of wireless service in Canada. Cool!
Now if they only supported the iPhone... |

My wireless network appears to have been compromised |
Here's an interesting message dialog that I just got on my new laptop: The full text states "The wireless network appears to have been compromised and will be disabled for about a minute."
This happened when I had connected to my MacBook Pro from a wired Mac Mini and was transferring some files between them. The MacBook Pro was also downloading a file inside Parallels at the same time. The local network is on a TrendNET router using WPA-PSK as the wireless security option.
I'm pretty sure this is a false alarm. Googling the message returns a few other people who have seen it, and one of them mentions a TrendNET router is involved. |

High density living |
My move went well and new apartment is awesome. Huzzah!
Shaw has done well, and their internet tubes here work for my account. For fun, I opened MacStumbler to log all the wireless networks I can detect walking my laptop to the corners of my apartment. There's lots, pick your favorite (DeDutchZone I think).
Hello to all downtown Vancouver wireless nodes. How you doing? |
