Gambling with our Future

DEADLINE: Sunday 11:59 pm.

Our current national election has been the most boring one in our history. To spice it up a bit, I invite you to wager in the Election Outcome Pool. Guess the popular vote of the five parties, and the number of seats that they will win. Fill in this ballot in the comments section:

POPULAR VOTE: LIB: X% PQ:X% ADQ:X% GRN: X% QS: X%
NUMBER OF SEATS (out of 125): LIB: X PQ: X ADQ: X

For every percentage point and number of seats that you are off, you get one point. The person with the fewest points wins.

Bonus: if you predict that the Greens or Québec solidaire wins a seat, and they actually do, you get 50 points deducted from your score.

Alright, I'll toss my hat into the ring. I'm not paying that much attention to polls, and I'm not quite sure how equally population breaks down into seats, but here goes:

Popular Vote:
Lib: 35% - PQ 30% - ADQ 25% - GRN 10% - QS 5%
(I realize that adds up to too much, but assume +- 5% on each.)
Seats:
Lib: 65 - PQ 35 - ADQ 25

That's my bet. Liberal majority, but barely. Who else is man/woman enough to put their cards on the table?

Lib: 57, PQ: 50, ADQ: 18

Lib: 35.8%, PQ: 29.7%, ADQ: 23.7%, Grn: 5.9%, QS: 4.1%, Other: 0.8%

(I was only off by 6 seats in the Federal election.)

QS will do better than GRN this time because there is an Iranian guy running for them. Believe it!

Rebonjour,

The final results are as follows:
Second runner-up, with 59.65 points: Bryan
First runner-up (who will step in as winner in case the actual winner cannot, at any time, fulfill his duties as winner) with 53.63 points: Maryam
And the Winner with 50.85 points: Lephil! Congratulations.

Remember: democracy is just a game. If it has become more than a game for you, seek help.
